From this experience I hope to become more open minded and be able to communicate more openly with people. One thing that does scare me about going on this adventure is surviving in the wild since I have never camped out before.

Today was a very successful day because we hiked around 7 miles. Completing this hike makes me feel accomplished because it is the most I’ve ever hiked. Honestly, I felt like giving up at certain moments and it felt everlasting, but now that I am here sitting, writing in this journal, I feel proud of myself and the rest of the group.

Today was a very nice day because the weather was amazing. I really enjoyed clearing out the fire rings because it is a way that I am giving back to the environment. Hetch Hetchy is very beautiful and full of amazing views. I am glad I am living this experience even though I do miss home.

Today we reached LeConte Point! I am very tired but also feel very accomplished to have gotten here. the view here is amazingly beautiful. Taking this trip has been a wonderful experience because I have been able to get away form everything back in L.A. We were also able to see a bear today from a distance.
