- Yosemite National Park: Sunrise Lakes
I have never really appreciated nature as much as I have these past few days. Sunday through Tuesday morning we were at Curry Village. I thought that was enough nature and wildlife for me. Boy was I wrong. That Tuesday when we got out of Curry Village was when everything truly began. Sunrise Mt. was our primary objective for Tuesday and Wednesday. The view is something else. Smelling the coldness from the tip top of the mountain was one of the best feelings ever. Nature is just so beautiful. Coming from a dude, that might sound cheesy, but I don't care. Yosemite is Gorgeous!
Climax! I woke up, I felt the snow hit my face. It was a thin sheet of ice. I was packing for my big trip. I had a light pack for my stuff, like water and hat. On our way here we had some slips and some falls, but no one really got hurt. Clouds Rest was a mission. I hate heights, so getting up here was a challenge. I don't know how to feel right now, I am really grateful the girls got through this though. The view is great.
The solo hike was seriously one of the most amazing experiences ever. Now I know why people hike by themselves. It was so quiet, so peaceful, I felt like at the end of the hike there was a nice warm pizza. I tried not to pace myself that much, just to keep distance. But I was trying not to get lost. I wish my time here was increased. I loved the solo hike.
