I want to learn how to be more social and gain more friends out of this expedition. Learning more about the environment and the area would be a great way to remember that we all belong in the wild and this is our true home.
What I can contribute is a helping hand. I can serve as a person to mentor those who have never been in Yosemite before. One thing I have learned in the past is how to read a map which has allowed me to gain valuable experience when it comes to finding the location and finding the correct path to take.
Wilderness means your roots, it means human life before the change of agriculture. It means life not only for those who visit and the animals but also life to the trees and plants.
My role in wilderness is to protect it and come back to our original home and not affect the wildlife. We must be thoughtful of the wildlife around us. We would not like the animals going to our home and leaving trash behind. A goal I would like to set personally would be a goal to keep Yosemite along with other parks clean and it is up to those who make the visits to the wilderness to make and maintain a beautiful park available to those who have not yet visited.
I have been more in tune with the wilderness and I feel as though I am fart of the Yosemite wilderness. I am able to enjoy the sounds of nature and I look forward to being able to hear the wildlife in my own home.
I can continue this at home by finding the nature that usually is hidden by the agriculture and technology. I will have my mind set on finding these locations and assuring that I continue to enjoy the natural beauty the earth provides.
