Wilderness is a reminder that not everything is based soley on technology. There is a whole different, beautiful world untouched by man. It helps to forget about the outside world, even if only for a minute. It is a natural world that is kept untouched by man for its beauty. The beauty and harmony of the natural world is the knowledge I gained. I learned how this beautiful park came into existence. And” MAD: move, adapt, or die” is a trait of animals during winter up in the mountains.

I learned a lot about myself this week. First I learned that I have the incredible endurance to climb a mountain and stay in freezing cold temperatures. I learned that I can work with nine other people towards a common goal with little bickering. Finally, I learned that I can face a fear of heights by climbing a mountain. I now know that I have no limits on what I can or can’t do. I can keep a clean environment and take nature more seriously as something I should protect and not take lightly. I also know of the protection of all wildlife.
