The Wilderness to me means being in touch with Mother Nature, hearing the wind howl as it ruffles through your hair. Seeing the stars at night and hearing all the little critters scattering about. It’s a place where you go and live in nature to the very root where we all began. It also means being in touch with a side of yourself you didn’t know you had, and experiencing an entirely different lifestyle. It is a different part of the Earth, it is undiscovered adventures. True moments of happiness are when all you can hear is your heart beat. The blood coursing through your veins as you have a wonderful view of undiscovered joy that the wilderness brings to you.

Wilderness has made me grow in many ways. It has showed me that with each tragic passing a new life is born. I’ve hiked before but never saw the true beauty of what the wilderness can show you. With the stewardship we did with Park Ranger Kristen it has motivated me to be more active in my community and organize events where I can have a group of people pick up trash and restore it. My goal in life, although it still isn’t certain, is to be an immigration attorney or some type of law that allows me to help people in need. These past few days has shown me that although I may not be feeling 100% there will be people and my personal perseverance that will push me to reach my goal, not only in the wilderness but in my career too.
