1st day

We arrived and set up our tent cabins I room with Laura and Maribel. Food was AWESOME and filling, felt like I was going to pop. We didn’t know we had a heater so we were literally freezing all night. We also watched a movie called “The Spirit of Yosemite.”

2nd day

Breakfast lunch and dinner were of course the bomb.com. We got our supplies and set up our backpacks for hiking. It was a long adventurous day. We also took a small hike and played some interesting games.

Day 1 Backpacking

My definition of wilderness: Land that is left to its own natural system. Being un-domesticated by man, undefiled by industry and belonging to no one but itself.

I believe it is essential for us to take a break from the high demand and business of cities to simplify ourselves and connect to our inner balance and peace. To just breathe and feel alive.

How has the Wilderness helped me grow?

It helped me to get my priorities in balance by giving me time and solitude to think. I was able to take a step back and see life as the big picture instead of all the insignificant hurdles. By living in a way that is focused on internal evaluating. Just like a forest fire allows the forest to start over and create new life, this break from busy life has given me the chance to reevaluate and sort of restart my focus and mentality.
