  • Yosemite National Park: Hetch Hetchy

The first day that we got here at Yosemite, my first thought was, it was going to be fun with my friends and classmates, and I was right. So, the first day we got to Yosemite we stayed in a Camp called Crane Flat, were we learn more about Hetch Hetchy and had a debate about, why should we build the dam. After that day pass, we went for a hike to lookout were ranger look for fires. It was an amazing view (first time). So the day we had to move out, and head to hetch hetchy, we had to do a 6 mile hike, Just to get to our camp site. When we got their, we set our tents, and had dinner. So what a’m trying to say is, the experience so far is amazing to me because it is my first time seeing Yosemite. So thank you for helping me learn about Yosemite and giving me this oppertunty to see Yosemite.

To me, stewardship is when you help someone or your community without any favor in return. Stewardship is very important to Wilderness because it helps the park be clean and people can help to clear the trails, like I did on Day 5 (I help Clear two trees off the trail). There are many ways People can be steward in National Parks. For example, one way you can help is by, clean up people trash left behind, clean the firepits, or fire range ashes, and move rocks that don’t belong their. The way I can bring stewardship back home to my community is by helping out my church, local parks, and many other things to help save water, and keep my community clean. So you can say that stewardship is very important and everyone should be stewards around their community and save National Parks by being a steward.
