This week WildLink students were asked to imagine that all of the country's wilderness areas were in jeopardy of being developed; Congress is locked in a tie and the person who will cast the deciding vote is undecided. Each student has an exclusive audience with this person in order to sway his/her vote in the direction they believe is right. What would they say?

Wilderness is a place of peace and adventure. In it everyone has the opportunity to explore and learn from it. What would the life of people be without it? It is a place full of peace and a great teacher. Without it the future generation wouldn't know how beautiful a place can be. A beautiful place like this has the same value of ten or even more cities, and even more. Without it you or your family wouldn't have the chance to see some of the many wild animals not afraid of humans. These animals don't fear humans because they trust us no to hurt them. There are more things you have to think about before voting. Does the Earth need more roads more big cities or do we need a peaceful place that we can enjoy with our family or loved ones. Places like the land only make us have peace but it can teach us how to live and appreciate what is around us.
