April 15, 2003 Now that you've experienced wilderness, what do you think about it? What did you think of wilderness before you visited it?

I didn't know about wilderness before I came and see it by myself. For weather it's reminds me about country where I came from. I was happy to see snow again and forest. I'm really surprise about huge mountains. And I didn't like rain and cold weather, but snow, rain, and cold weather can't stop me for this hiking trip.

April 16, 2003 Today you've learned about the history of Hite's Cove and explored the ruins. Imagine what life would have been like to live at Hite's Cove during the gold rush era. How do you think they viewed wilderness back then?

It would be dangerous living, because stronger people is trying to get on top and push weaker peoples down, to make their lives better.
