April 15, 2003 I did not expect for it to be so cold, I can hardly do any thing, because my hands feel like there frozen, over all the experience was good, the mountains were nice looking, I experienced snow, it snowing, the coldest weather. I really enjoyed the hiking from curry village to Yosemite village, even though the first

### April 16, 2003 Now that you've experienced wilderness, what do you think about it? What did you think of wilderness before you visited it? At first I thought wilderness was extremely cold, like snow never melts, it snows all day long, all night. It seems, I was some what wrong, it does snow, but not all day and night. But it is very cold at times, but it can get hot also, especially if you hiking.

Now I think some what the something, the sites are beautiful, but it take a long time to get up here, and its hard work, there are steep parts of the trail, there are parts you are fall if the trail especially at the beginning. Its even more hard, when it's hot, like today, today was extremely hot. Over all it was a good experience, it showed me how wilderness really is, not just made up thoughts.

April 16, 2003 Today you've learned about the history of Hite's Cove and explored the ruins. Imagine what life would have been like to live at Hite's Cove during the gold rush era. How do you think they viewed wilderness back then?

If I were live during the time in Hite's Cove, I would be very careful, people would be getting drunk, arguing, and also mining for gold, but of course if I were to have there some minds, I would want to do the some thing, which is get rich, I would not wont to be married, and check on my wife, like one person did back then.
