Goals and Expectations
Hmmm...my goals for the week. I guess my main goal is to learn something fun! I really just want to have fun this week and learn something too! I really hope to get to know all the people on this trip and have a good experience to remember!
My Background and Wilderness
I have been camping since I was born! When I was little my parents were heavy into scuba diving and every weekend we went camping on the coast. When I was 4 my brother joined Cub Scouts and I was always camping with them on Silver Lake! At 6 I joined girl scouts and we did a backyard campout to get our camping and outdoor cooking Try-Its.
Every summer my family and I would go to a national park! When I was 14 I joined Venturer Scouts and went mountain biking in Utah. Last summer my family and I went backpacking to Aza Lake! I've grown up with wilderness! I don't know how many Ranger talks I've been to or how many hikes I've been on! I've probably been to 5 or 6 National Parks and numerous State Parks.
I was brought up respecting nature and loving nature. I love the wilderness and I know the wilderness and I know I would be a completely different person without it! All kinds of things or people have affected my views on nature. For example, my Grandparents live in Trinity and because of that I am totally opposed to logging. And because of my countless beach trips I love the ocean. With the Venturers I got to know and love the desert!
Nature/Wilderness is a part of me! The best sounds are not man made! The sound of snow (yes, it had a sound) or the creek that I'm listening to right now. Wilderness is beauty.
Wilderness Poetry
The mountain stands tall
Birds make lovely little songs
The river flows down!
