  • August 2019 Family Weekend
  • Crane Flat

Wildlink alumni brought their families to Yosemite this summer for relaxing, bonding, and a glimpse into their experience on a WildLink expedition. Family weekend is a unique chance for WildLink alumni from many different places in California to connect with each other and with the people they’re close to

Families arrived on Friday evening for a lovely dinner at Crane Flat. The night ended with get to know you activities and learning a short film about Yosemite. On Saturday, families signed up for hikes and headed to the beautiful high country of the park. The first group hiked to Soda Springs, a naturally carbonated spring near Tuolumne meadows, for some relaxing and watercolor painting. The next group hiked through a beautiful forest to Dog Lake, a scenic high country lake. The third group did a strenuous rock scramble adventure to the top of Lembert Dome for some incredible views of the park. All groups returned to Crane Flat with lots of smiles and stories to share. In the evening, everyone participated in a campfire program that included silly games with lots of laughs, skits, and reflections by the fire. Everyone was feeling grateful to experience such a beautiful park in great company. Sunday morning ended the weekend with a yummy breakfast and great conversations. Families then got the chance to explore the park on their own or head back to their homes around the state. We are so grateful for WildLink alumni and their families for returning to Yosemite, and for constantly inspiring us and each other in so many ways!

WildLink is a proud partner of the National Park Service, National Forest Service, and Nature Bridge.
