Hopes: My hopes for the week are for everything to go all right on the hike.

Fears: Travel and hiking are one of my fears. When something goes wrong and I try to fix it, something else happens. The more I try to fix it, the deeper I get in a bad situation. I am also terrified of spiders. When I see one I want to stay as far away from it as possible. It's pretty cold right now, so I don't think I'll have to worry about the spiders crawling on me during the hike.

Wilderness is: The place where we can watch true nature. You never see the things in nature in the city. We humans have taken much of nature to make into our home. Wilderness is a good place to view the beautiful places we've destroyed and to forget we let that happen. This entire week I've seen the most beautiful sights I've ever seen in my life. Since we've had such a huge effect on nature, I really couldn't see nature as it is. Most of the animals are used to seeing humans, so they aren't as afraid of us. Wilderness is also the place to learn how lucky we really are. Living out in the wilderness is hard, and I'm just happy we have our technology.
