A beautiful day to explore a local state park and learn from students about their experience with WildLink!

The students of Health Careers Academy planned a day of hiking and exploring Caswell State Park, a park about 20 minutes from most of their homes. While there, the girls demonstrated skills they learned while in Yosemite for their expedition. They showed the group how to pack a backpack, they talked about LNT principles and taught their family and peers about going to the bathroom outdoors. Needless to say most of the parents and classmates were surprised and slightly shocked to experience what the students actually did in the backcountry. While hiking the students also picked up trash along the trails, everyone was surprised by how much liter there was in the park.

In the end the group had a wonderful time exploring their backyard! Most of the group had never been there before and everyone agreed they would return again soon!
