March 5, 2016: Tuesday
Today was the day we went on the 6.5 mile hike to base camp. It took much longer and was harder than I expected. today I had to face my fear of heights. I was so close to the edge 80% of the hike. There were some places that were so narrow or rocky I was scared to death. I arrived to camp exhausted and with shriveled feet. I never felt this way before. This physical and emotional exhaustion. Once we found camp we set up tents and put all the stuff where it needed to go and finally had dinner.

March 6, 2016: Wednesday
It was so warm sleeping in the thents. I actually had to unzip it in the middle of the night because it was hot in there. Once most people woke up, we had breakfast (oatmeal and bagel). After that we did a service project with Naomi in which we gave back to the environment. Our group unstacked rocks and cleaned up ash from campfire pits. We then had lunch and Naomi left after taking a group picture. Now Jack and Alejandro gave us journal time.

Why I try new things
Doing the same thing over and over again every day can get boring. The only way I can avoid that is by switching up my routine. I'm not just talking about changing the route in which you are driving. But, to explore new things. Such as a restaurant/food. Or maybe even skipping school/work for a day and go to the beach. I try new things so I can be sane. I try new things so I can know what I like and don't like. So I can find myself and know what kind of person I am. I try new things so I am not trapped in this constant circle/loop of everyday life. At the end of the day I want to be able to stay that I at least tried.
