When I heard about it I wasn’t sure I would want to do something like this, but I brought the paperwork home anyways. Once my dad got a hold of it, he thought it was the coolest thing and he wanted me to look into it more. So I went and asked Esmey and Marlen and they told me how much fun it is and it is a good experience. After I thought about it for a while I decided I did want to try something new, especially when it was free!

My role in the wilderness has been to see new things, but also keep it the way I found it. To not destroy anything.

My pace was a little different than anyone else so I definitely had to adjust. At times, I wanted to top and leave, but I had grit! I don’t hike up mountains very often so it was hard for me but I stuck through it and felt a lot stronger when we all got to the top!

I feel that I have done something amazing! I get to enjoy and take in a place that not many people get to even know about or see at all! I also feel very proud of myself for not giving up and trying my hardest.
