The wilderness means so many things to me. It’s a sense of freedom, to just let go of everything you deal with at school and at home.

Just everywhere. Aves hay que salir de donde uno se siente seguro y explorer otras cosas. To get out of your routine of everyday and give yourself a challenge. To explore what we came from. Siempre hay que aresgar en la vida y dejar el miedo que cargas adentro. I’m not going to lie; I am scared of wild animals but just now I’m letting my fears go and it feels great. To me wilderness just means being free and most importantly see what you are capable of doing.

How has the wilderness influenced your idea of womyn or being a woman?

The wilderness influenced me to be more mature in a way. I became stronger here, more comfortable with people. I talk and laugh and nobody judges me. It made me feel more at home. I already know women had strength, and everything. But this trip showed me a lot more, that us women are powerful and can do anything we put our minds to. We are one!

The 3 strengths I have are just sitting and hearing people out, also communicating, and learning how to work together!

I honestly think these strengths will help me accomplish my dreams because you need communication for everything so that’s a win if you know how to communicate. Learning how to work together is a win because we need that for a job, or school or anything. It makes things easier and better. And lastly, hearing people out is going to help me build good friendships in jobs and school. Even strengths you don’t notice help you out. I overcame so many challenges like my fear of sleeping alone. Also of trusting people. I overcame my shyness in a way!
