  • Bridge Program 2010

The Yosemite-WildLink Bridge Program concluded its fourth iteration this summer. Six amazing WildLink alumni returned to the park for 12 days of job shadowing, community engagement, leadership and professional development and just plain fun.

During the 12 days of programming, the Bridger’s met with over 40 people who live and work in Yosemite National Park, and were exposed to many different career options in public lands. A highlight of the program was when two Bridge alumni from 2007 came back to present about their jobs working with the Forest Service out of the Stanislaus. Participants also helped with an ecological restoration project, went on a Wilderness Patrol, went rock climbing with the Mountain School, and assisted a ranger patrol on the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. At the end of the program, the Bridger’s met with human resource officials from both the park and DNC to gain insight into hiring processes and get assistance with their resumes. As evidenced by the connection of Bridger’s from 2007 to this year’s participants, the Yosemite-WildLink Bridge Program builds lasting relationships both to each other and to Parks and Wild places.
