Dear journal, On this expedition I learned a lot. My main lesson is that people are people no matter what situation they're in. I made a strong connection with my mind and the environment. My mind thinks things through and observes everyone. Wilderness is not having any civilization, it's not a place to go and watch a movie, it’s a place to enjoy nature and figure out yourself. It has great value! It's valuable to the mind and soul, not your pockets. This experience meant finding out myself. It also meant taking a risk. I found I have a really strong connection to the trees and to the flute that Shelton Johnson played. It was so beautiful it made me cry. That was a great experience. Doing something I wouldn't normally do was a huge step and risk.
