Wilderness is beauty and new experiences; a place to get away from all the stress of everyday life. Wilderness is important to me because it is a naturally beautiful place that captures your attention. It houses animals and plants so they will be protected. I have learned that nature is an important part of the Earth that us humans should take care of because it is Earth’s jewel.

April 22: I am here at Half Dome. It is snowy, chilly, wet, fun, and that all adds up to an incredible experience for me. Hiking up to our campground yesterday was physically challenging for me, but as Cynthia had said, “the juice is worth the squeeze.” It truly was worth all the hiking we did to reach this naturally beautiful place. I met new people and learned how important and gorgeous Yosemite is to the Earth. It is a quiet, peaceful place for anybody to visit and I will remember this for the rest of my life.
