What is wilderness to me?

Well, right now to me it is being very cold. My hands and feet are frozen and hurt. Today out of Curry Village and into the outback. I really liked hiking to our destination but now it is really cold because we aren't moving. My body isn't cold, just hands and feet. I enjoyed the sun today. What does wilderness mean to me? I am really gald that we still have wilderness. I'm scared one day that the world will just be a concrete jungle. To me wilderness is wonderful, natural and peaceful.

Leah as Yosemite Valley

"To sit in solitude, to think in solitude with only the music of the music of the stream and the cedar to break the flow of silence, here lies the value of wilderness." - John Muir

I think this is a beautiful and inspiring quote for this trip. I feel that spending time in nature is important, especially since I rarely have the chance to do it in snow even though I'm miserable and cold, I think I may appreciate it later.
