Why did you want to come on this trip? 10 reasons/goals 1. I love the outdoors 2. I like hiking 3. I like being around other people 4. I love nature 5. I like to learn about wildlife 6. I like the view 7. I like how quiet it is 8. Being up on the mountains makes me feel complete 9. I thought it would be a good experience 10. To get in touch with God
One fear that I have is if I brought all the right gear. I have been backpacking before and it was horrible because you don't have the right stuff. Some of the other fears I have are getting along with other students. I don't worry about that much. I think we have a good group. My last fear is getting bad weather.
How were you challenged today?
I was challenged in many way today. I am used to going and getting things done. On the hike we stopped so many times. I was getting mad. I had to ask God to calm me down. I also was challenged to take a bigger load than I though. I am so used to going backpacking prepared. It made me mad that I had to carry their stuff. The last way I was challenged by having to talk and encourage people. I don't like to talk while I hike. I like to listen to God and to nature. I really had to push myself to talk.
I think about this week. I think about what I am going to be doing. I think about how much fun the week has been. I also think about all the things I have learned. I think of how peaceful it is here.
I hear planes. I hear the sounds of nature. I hear the wind blowing through the trees.
I see God's creation
I touch the cold rocks. I hold them in my hinds. I touch the trees. I try to retain as much information I can from them.
