My goals...

Well, my goals are to get to know everyone and feel confident around them, which so far I do. Hopefully I don't get sick and make it back to the cabins when I go out hiking with the group. But I'm really looking forward to this day.

I really hope everyone gets along with everyone as well as safe. I just really hope everything goes right and everyone has fun, including myself. Hopefully I don't get sick, my stomach has been barely hurting.

Wilderness

Wilderness to me means a place that humans haven't touched. It could be dangerous but is a very relaxing place to be. Although there are bears, spiders, bugs, deer that can be seen if you[']r[e] at the right place at the right time, they can also hurt you if you get to[o] close to them. My very favorite thing are the waterfalls, which are not wilderness. It is a very important place for us humans although we destroy it when we cut trees down for the reason that there isn't many left. For me it is a very magical place to be at.

There are lots of challenges out in the wilderness as I have experienced since the first day til now. The most difficult one

for me was the hike. Man is it hard, as I remember yesterday when I was hiking for a long time. I thought the group and I were almost near. Til one of the girls from the team asked if we were almost near, and one of the leaders said we had three more miles to go. I was so surprised to hear that. At first I thought it wasn't so hard, til I put my hiking bag on and I felt it so heavy.

I am so thankful

I am so thankful for having the chance to be a part of the WildLink Program. There has been a lot of challenging times throughout these last few days. There were lot of good memories although the best one is actually seeing snow fall. I've always wanted to see it fall, but that wish actually happened up here in Hetch Hetchy. And I am so thankful for having the chance to be here.

The worst things that I would say happened to me was when my hands fell frozen. Man did that hurt, it wasn't a good feeling. At first it wasn't so good when it rained, but it didn't turn out bad.

After everything I went through out here in Hetch Hetchy, I've realized how thankful I am of my parents for having everything they have given me. I got to say, it isn't easy being out here in the cold, all wet and numb, but it all turned out great and was a very memorable experience.
