Goals
Group Goals- Know eachother and work together, participate.
Personal Goals- To start the long road of getting in shape.
I have fears of being embarrassed or being forced into some other uncomfortable situation. And I know that the hiking will be hard and I just hope I can make it.

First challenges
The hike was strenuous, long, and uncomfortable. Sleep was interrupted by rain which made the sleeping bags wet which obviously mean the tent was not water proof on the ground. So far the best things has been socializing in the tent.
Wilderness is...
Wilderness is an environment which is completely in the control of mother nature. Maybe at times touched by man but just as well is respected and many times at the person's inconvenience. The extent of that inconvenience shows the love and care of that environment.
Challenges
For the next 3 or so days, my challenge will be to resist laziness, follow the LNT [Leave No Trace] mentality and stay dry as much as possible.
The Earth Speaks
We have just found out about the WildLink tradition. It sounds like a real good feature of the whole program and to think I am going to get the book [The Earth Speaks] as well. I guess it's true what Barb said about throughout the trip they would be pulling our all kinds of "chunks" to make everything worthwhile.
