Rancheria Falls at night: 10/31/01

Tonight we are sitting next to the Rancheria Creek and its about 9:00 pm and it is just amazing. You can see all kinds of stars the moon is so bright I don't need to even use a flashlight but the river at night is just so cool because not only can we see it we can hear it and it is just so tremendous.

New Experiences and a Changed Perspective

One new thing that I have experienced was the weather it can change so fast because on Monday it was nice and warm but Tuesday morning it was pouring down rain and it got worse and finally the next morning it was so nice and warm. So the weather can ruin fun trips but it can also turn out [for] the best.

"I awoke in the middle of the night to take a leak and I saw a huge black silhouette and I really didn't give it a second look because I was really tired but in the morning some campers said they actually saw a bear that night so we went to the spots and sure enough there were bear prints."

Wilderness in my past, present, and future...

At the beginning of this trip I was looking forward to a great trip because I love the wilderness.

In the present right now I feel like I still love the wilderness "but" I like camping for about 2-3 days only not a week and especially not this remote I like it but not this remote.

In the future I would love coming back to this place but I want to go [at] my own speed and this next time when I come back I am going to bring my fishing gear and bring my really close friend that I have known my whole life and I might even ask my family to come back with me also.
